Overview
E-RELAY uses Panasonic relays rated up to 5 Amps 250 V AC per channel. Each channel is Normally Open (NO), optically isolated, has its own status LED, and screw terminals output. E-RELAY output is protected from high voltage spikes by varistors. Therefore, E-RELAY can be used with switching inductive loads.
At the heart of the E-RELAY is an PCF8574 that takes I2C commands to toggle the 8 relays. The I2C address of the E-RELAY is configurable by a 3 way PIN header. This allows a single E-BOARD to control a daisy chain with a maximum of 8 E-RELAY devices. This means a single E-BOARD can control up to 64 high voltage loads.
E-RELAY has many safety precautions on the PCB including wide traces designed for high amperage and ground isolation between the relay and other circuitry. E-RELAY is a power device for users who are experienced with and knowledgeable about high AC voltage.
It must be used in combination with E-BOARD.
